Wie geht's? SO Acceptance!

Super!

I'm writing this blog post during choir practice, after a hectic day. Incidentally, I was sorted as a first soprano! Yay!

My German class started at 7 am today and lasted until about 8:45 am. After that I worked super fast on my Gatsby essay

in my Analytical and Creative Thinking class we have to write an essay analyzing a certain book. We were allowed to pick between either

The Great Gatsby

or

Gone With The Wind

or

Les Miserables.

Which do you think I picked? You may not know anything about me, so I guess I'll teach you a little bit right now.

OF COURSE I CHOSE GATSBY ARE YOU KIDDING ME IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS. F. SCOTT FITZGERALD'S PROSE IS SOMETHING I ASPIRE TO, HE'S ONE OF MY GODS OF WRITING JUST LIKE ERNEST HEMINGWAY AND MAYBE IT'S A BIG PROBLEMATIC THAT MY GODS OF WRITING ARE BOTH WHITE MEN I PROMISE I'M NOT A CAPITALIST JERK FOR EXAMPLE JHUMPA LAHIRI IS ALSO ONE OF MY FAVORITES. I'm getting distracted trying to defend myself but honestly, you can never be too careful on the Internet.

The great news of today is that I got accepted into Student Organization! It's so amazing after

all of that hard work

I was accepted, because part of me had some doubts. I definitely wasn't perfect during

kaderisasi

so it's just a really welcome relief after this long day to hear that I made it.

69 people were accepted out of the ~85 people who attended

kaderisasi

, down from 150+ who applied. So I'm really lucky that even though my anxiety disorder almost prevented me from even going to

kader,

even though I was kind of rude to Kak Al, even though a lot of things, I was accepted.

Here's the proof! It's my name!!! And my major!!! And the division I was accepted into!

I have another quiz tomorrow in Introduction to Business Management so I'd like to get some more studying done and also get a little bit of rest. What other things can I add to this blog post to make it more interesting? I'm performing at this

poetry slam

this Sunday so I also need to practice for that. If you're in the Jakarta/BSD/Bintaro/etc you should stop by and hear me perform, yoiii! My poem is titled "Weeks" and is at least partly autobiographical. If you can't come I'll try and post a recording! What else? I'm going to McDonald's tomorrow with my friend Pam Pam to celebrate getting into SO. Hmmm. Tomorrow I have one class for four hours long. I think the most exciting part of this weekend will be hanging out with Rain in Jaksel and performing at Salihara. I hope I'll be able to memorize my poem by then, because I think that it's more emotional and true through memorization.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by to read my blog! Love,

Rin
